Holiday Winter Wine Soiree this Sunday!

Have you purchased your tickets to the PDX Urban Wineries annual Holiday Winter Wine Soiree this Sunday? This event features all of our members, all independent wineries located right here in the city of Portland.

What: PDX Urban Wineries Holiday Winter Wine Soiree
When: Sunday, December 7, 6-9pm
Where: Cyril’s at Clay Pigeon Winery, 815 SE Oak St at Sandy in inner SE Portland

Entry is $10 (or $5 at the door with 2 non-perishable food items for our local Food Bank). Your admission will include 5 tasting tickets and some light nosh. The tickets can be used with any of the wineries or turn in 4 tickets for a glass of wine. Additional tasting tickets will be available for purchase.

Plus, all wines will be available to purchase, mix and match with nice discounts for purchases of 6 and 12 bottles or more. Stock up for your holiday celebrations with wines from independent wineries right here in Portland.

Harvest in Portland 2014

If you live in Portland or are visiting the city in September and October, the grape harvest is on.

Visit PDX Urban Wineries members all over the east and north side of Portland to experience the harvest in an urban winery setting.

We’ll be sorting grapes, managing fermentations, using the press and filling barrels for several weeks to come. Visit our tasting rooms and come say hello as we produce the newest vintage.

Urban Wine Weekend in Portland August 16-17 – updated Monday

Make special plans to go wine tasting in Portland this coming weekend, August 16-17. Why? It’s our quarterly Portland Urban Wine Weekend, of course.

That means PDX Urban Wineries members will be open and offering special things to try. Jan Marc Cellars on Ainsworth in N. Portland will be opening the garage door for a special Saturday only event, pouring four whites and two reds, including the new release 2012 Bastard Red. 2110 N Ainsworth Street.

Over at the SE Wine Collective off SE Division and 35th Place, the tasting bar will feature a special $10 flight of member wineries Division Winemaking Company, Fullerton Wines and Helioterra Wines, and the 2013 Melon de Bourgogne from Collective alum Bow & Arrow. 2425 SE 35th Place.

Hip Chicks do Wine are throwing a huge blow out for Urban Wine Weekend on Saturday, August 16, 4-8pm, celebrating their 15th anniversary as a winery, all of those years in Portland. These women established the modern age of PDX urban winemaking and are a driving force behind PDX Urban Wineries the organization. 4510 SE 23rd Avenue. Advance tickets here.

Tickets available for PDX Urban Wine Experience tasting June 8

Join PDX Urban Wineries for our 4th annual premier wine tasting, the PDX Urban Wine Experience, June 8 from 3-6pm at RefugePDX in inner SE Portland. Urban winemaking in Portland is booming. Come taste wines made right here in the city limits.

All eleven members of PDX Urban Wineries – representing the majority of wine producers in the city of Portland – will be on hand pouring new releases and other special bottlings. Each winery will be pouring 2-3 wines and you will have the chance to hear about the wines from the owners and winemakers.

Special Trade Tasting Post-Oregon Wine Symposium at Clay Pigeon Winery

Members of the wine trade – if you’re going to be in Portland next week for the Oregon Wine Symposium, don’t miss our special PDX Urban Wineries trade tasting happening right when the Symposium finishes.
